In an effort to encourage young musicians the Two Tenors, as often as physically possible, employ young guest artists.  During their time on the concert they become very comfortable playing in front of large audiences and also learn about the performing industry as a career.

Anthony Barrand
, Saxophone

Anthony is an extremely accomplished saxophonist.  In the Two Tenors concert he plays both alto and soprano saxophones.  His CD, "Anthony Barrand Playing Saxophones" contains a mix of the old and new---sacred and secular music from a wide span of time periods.  Anthony began an interest in music very early in life taking piano lessons and singing.  In Jr. High school he entered the band program in the Lake Dallas Texas school system starting with the oboe.  He soon moved to saxophones and has continued there throughout his high school years.  Anthony played alto sax in the Lake Dallas high school marching band and both alto and soprano sax in the school jazz band.

Barry says of Anthony:  "Anthony is a phenomenal young artist.  He plays music perfectly on first reading no matter how difficult and he plays with an artistry found in few of his age.  It is an honor to have Anthony as a guest artist on the Two Tenors concert".

Richard Downs, Euphonium

Richard has always had a keen interest in music.  Besides playing Euphonium he is also an excellent singer and guitarist.  During the concert Richard plays as both a soloist and member of the entire ensemble.  He has grown up in the Lake Dallas Texas school system and has been involved in the band program since the 6th grade.  Richard played in both the marching/concert band and the jazz band at Lake Dallas high school.  His hobbies are sports cars and playing guitar.

Barry says of Richard:  "If all young men in this world were like Richard Downs, there would be few problems.  Richard can make the Euphonium SING!  He takes the instrument beyond its normal capabilities and does it well.  The Two Tenors love working with Richard!"

Evan McCurley, Trumpet

Evan McCurley is a product of the Lake Dallas Texas school system where he has played trumpet in band since the sixth grade. He is currently a sophomore at Lake Dallas High School and a member of the marching/concert band. Evan is a soccer player and enjoys all kinds of music. His hobby is raising chickens.  Evan grew up in Corinth Texas where he still lives.

Barry says of Evan: "Evan McCurley is a very intelligent young man. He has always been willing to work as hard as necessary to get the job done. It has been great to watch Evan develop as a young musician and the Two Tenors look forward to a long association with him".
